UNHAPPY BUT TOO SCARED TO START OVER?

Almost all of us have dreamed of doing something different at some point in our lives. Maybe we hate the situation we're in, we're bored or we know we have the potential to do SO much more.

So why is switching gears and starting over feel like such a big deal? Why is everyone afraid of pulling the trigger and actually doing it? 

I'll tell ya why. Cause it's terrifying!!

Leaving everything you know to start something new without the guarantee that you'll succeed sounds like something only a crazy person would do. 

Risking failure makes no sense to people who spend the majority of their time thinking logically. It also makes no sense to people who are paralyzed with fear because of other circumstances. (ie. they're in debt or have stress about paying their bills, they feel like they need all the answers before they can make a move, they're tired and the thought of having to start over again is too overwhelming.)

I soooo get it. In fact ALL of those excuses are what held me back from taking the leap more times than I'd like to admit.

This week I shared on Instagram all the times I started over and how difficult it was for me. From moving across the country to changing jobs to getting a divorce to starting a new career, I'm not going to lie - I was kicking and screaming the whole time! 

So why did I do it? 

Here's the simple truth to how I've taken the leap and started over so many times in my life. 

The thought of still being unhappy or wondering "what if" 5 years down the line scared me more than any big move I've taken in my life ever did.

I wanted to share this with you in case you've been contemplating on making a move - switching careers (even just jobs!), going back to school, starting that passion project, putting your health first, finding a partner - YOU NAME IT. 

If you've been putting your dreams and goals on hold because you're too scared of all the what if's, I want you to know you're not alone. And if I can do it, I know 100% you can definitely do it too.
